Entering New Tag 

Initial fields

  1. Navigate to Setup --> Ad Setup.
  2. Select your ad group.
  3. Click Create New Tag.
  4. From the drop-down menu, select Header Bidder → Display.
     
  5. On the screen below:

    1.   Header Bidder Name: Enter a unique name for your header bidding tag.
    2.   Floor Price: Enter the lowest price at which you will accept bids. (e.g. $0.10).
    3.   Ad Size: Select one ad size for your impression.

Pricing Tiers

  1. In the next section, configure your pricing tiers (also known as line items). The values below demonstrate typical settings, unless you are configuring additional pricing tiers.

    On the above screen, if you choose an upper limit of $20.00 and a granularity of $0.01, the prices within this tier will be: $0.01, $0.02, ..., $19,99, $20.00. Anything above $20.00 will fall back to $20.00, unless you configure one or more additional pricing tiers.

    1. In the second field, enter the upper limit of your price range. (e.g. $20.00)
    2. In the third field, enter the increment. (We recommend $0.01)

    (OPTIONAL): If you require a second series of pricing tiers, with a different granularity, for prices above the upper limit of your previous range:
    1. Click Add Pricing Tier.
    2. You will see the following screen. The values below are example settings for two pricing tiers. Note that the upper limit for the first pricing tier would now be $19.99 and not $20.00.

    3.  In the first field of the new pricing tier, enter the lower limit of your additional pricing tier. It should be $0.01 higher than the previous upper limit.
    4. In the second field of the new pricing tier, enter the upper limit of your price range. (e.g. $50.00). However,
      you should subtract $0.01 if you plan to enter yet another pricing tier.
    5. In the third field of the new pricing tier, enter the increment. (e.g. $0.05)
    6. If you wish to add yet another pricing tier, return to step 2a. Otherwise, proceed to step 3.

  1. Header Bidder Code: This field is read-only. Insert the code therein on your web page(s) anywhere above the DFP call Google Ad Manager (formerly called DFP) call. You may insert the code directly onto your page(s), or via your CMS. If updates are needed to the DFP Ad Manager placement, DIV, or slot names, you may edit only those characteristics. As an alternative, you can email the Header Bidder Code via step 2 below.
    Do not deploy the code until you have finalized all fields in all sections of the setup process.
  2. Email Address: If you wish to email the Header Bidder Code (instead of copying from this screen):
    1. Enter the email address and click Send.
    2. The recipient must open the email and insert the attached code into your page(s).
  3. Click .

Editing Tag

Preliminary Steps

  1. Navigate to Setup --> Ad Setup.
  2. Select your ad group.
  3. Click the name of the header bidding tag to modify.

    If you do not see the header bidding tag you wish to modify, it may be that the tag is inactive. (The default is to display only active tags.) To display all tags:

    1) Click Active (per the above screenshot).
    2) Select All.

  4. You will see a screen such as the following. Proceed to one of the subsections below to modify your data.

Inactivate a Tag

  1. Click Active to flip this toggle to Inactive. (See screenshot in previous section.)
  2. Read the warning window, then click OK.
  3. Click  . (Click  to cancel inactivating this tag.)

Activate a Tag

  1. Click Inactive to flip this toggle to Active.
  2. Click  . (Click  to cancel activating this tag.)

Change Various Parameters


  1. Make any necessary changes to the header bidding tag name, and/or Floor Price.
  2. If you have no other changes to make, click  and do not proceed any further. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
  3. Click More.
  4. Review the pricing tier(s), and make any necessary changes.

  5. If you need to change your Implementation and Code parameters, proceed to step 6, Otherwise, proceed to step 8.
  6. Click Implementation and Code.
  7. Make any necessary changes. Refer to Implementation and Code for more info.
  8. Redeploy your ad tag either by:
    > Copying the ad tag code and pasting it into your page(s).
    > Emailing it, and then pasting the code attached to the email into your page(s).
  9. Click .
