Task 4: Duplicating Creatives

Copying Creatives

NOTE

Ad Manager enforces a constraint that one creative can be served only to one ad unit on your page. If a page has four ad units, it requires at least four creatives attached to the line item. Accordingly, you must (in this case) create three additional copies of the creative, for a total of four.

Using four creatives is only our recommended example. If you wish a larger (or smaller) number of creatives, adapt the instructions below appropriately. (Less than four creatives would mean your page has less than four ad units.)

1) Scroll up to the top of the screen.

2) Click the third link at the top of the screen (per the line item name). A new screen will display.

3) On the next screen, Click Creatives(1)

 4) Check the checkbox for the creative you created earlier e.g. Test Creative 1.

 5) Click More actions. (Directly above the creatives list.)
 6) Select Copy Creative.
 7) If you see a message (at the top of the screen) that the creative has been copied, click Dismiss.
      > You now have two creatives.

 8) Click the checkbox for the newly copied creative e.g. Test Creative 1 (Copy).
 9) Click More actions again. (Directly above the creatives list.)
10) Select Copy Creative. This step will copy both existing creatives, yielding four creatives.  (The order of the creatives
may not reflect the sequence in which you duplicated them.)

11) If you see a message (at the top of the screen) that the creative has been copied, click Dismiss.

12) You now have (per this example) four instances of this creative; however, the names are not ideal. Proceed to the next section to rename them.

Renaming Creatives

 1) Remove all remaining check marks next to your creatives.
 2) Write down the names of the four creatives.
 3) For each creative you wish to rename:

      a) Right-click its name (e.g. Test Creative 1 (or) Test Creative 1 (copy), etc.).
      b) Select Open link in new tab.
      c) Click the new tab at the top of your browser.

     > Test Creative (2 of 4)
     > Test Creative (3 of 4)

> Test Creative (4 of 4)
     f) Scroll down.
     g) Click Save.
     h) Wait for the page to redisplay with the creative's new name.
     i) Close the current browser tab.
     j) Return to the previous browser tab.
     k) If you have another creative to rename, return to step 3a. Otherwise, proceed to step 4.

 4) Refresh your browser window.
 5) If the window displays a line item instead of the list of creatives.

      b) Click Creatives(4) to bring up the list of creatives.
